What is the career option in Food Processing technology? Can you suggest me some correspondence course on Food analysis and quality control or Food processing technology? Please suggest me some universities who conducted the above course through distance education.

You should be considering a full time bachelor's degree in food science and technology or food technology at engineering colleges as also under agricultural universities. This background would lead to a professional break in this field. A formal degree of this nature is not usually offered through distance education. However, if you have a degree which can be relevant for placement in the food processing industry then some related post graduate level programme through distance education may be identified.

If you wish to make a difference to the lives of the poor and marginalized and prepared to wade through slush to counsel those who live in Jhuggis, career in social work may be to interest to you. Social work is emerging as an important profession in the modern world. Social work seeks to enhance the social functioning of individuals, singly and in groups, by activities focused upon their social relationship, which constitute the interaction between man and his environment. Social work is a service required whenever there is a strain in social relationships. It involves interacting with people to help them to overcome the hurdles created due to old age, illness, poverty, mal-adjustment, crisis in family or at work etc. In most of these problems, whether helping a spastic child learn some basic skills or helping a group of adolescents with their teenage problems or working with a juvenile offender-it calls for direct interaction with people. Historically social work was considered a philanthropic activity but now with advancement of civilization, social problems have become more complex. The society needs a group of social workers with special skills in preventive and corrective methods. It is now a multidimensional field, which encompasses criminology and correctional administration, industrial relations, personnel management medical and psychiatric social work and various other fields offering lucrative financial returns. Social work is different from most other professions as it involves not only your knowledge and skills but also your values, beliefs, feelings and convictions. Social work is both physically and mentally demanding profession. Social worker is particularly interested in the social functioning and relationships of clients and in utilizing community resources to meet their personnel as well as social problems. Compassionate and feel for those in need, firm commitment to the cause, good communication skills, perseverance, emotional stability, maturity, logical thinking and caring attitude are some of the attributes which help social workers to grow in their profession. I am pursuing M.A.(Hestory) through correndence & I am working in Financial Company as Computer Operator & I tried 2 times for Govt. Jobs in SSC & CRPF. but i am fully confused that what should i do bcz my working place my education both are in diffrent way & I want join Civil Service but some people suggess me that i should do MBA bcz's that good for job but some suggess me for B.Ed. that i could become a teacher, but without right guidenss i can't do anything, plz suggess me, what way i should go..

All of these are suitable options to explore, but you need to determine which of these goals would be realistic for you. Civil Services examination is a huge commitment and involves very strong academic preparation and well developed written presentation skills. MBA would give you good prospects if you were to get into a fairly reputed business school. This would, in turn, require very good performance in the written entrance test for MBA. If you wish to be a school (secondary and senior secondary) teacher then B Ed would be your choice. It is high time you stopped to consider what you feel would be the most realistic aspiration.

sir, I am in third year of b.com , i want to build my carrier in wildlife photohraphhy.please suggest me how should I start.

Start with basic training in photography and interest and understanding about nature and wildlife. However, none of this will ensure a career in wildlife photography. The best way to get yourself into wildlife photography is to do it alongside another job, preferably one that brings you into contact with your subjects. For example, you could work for an NGO working with wildlife projects or get your grounding during holidays. If you intend to be a full time professional, you have to look at the photography as a business and pursue it even when the project or assignments you are offered are not really what you wish to take up. . You have to earn enough money not just to pay for equipment, films, processing, travel, office expenses etc but also to make a living.

hi.... i did B.A. in englit i want to do post graduation diploma in human rights is there any scope after doin above course in distence mode? Plz guide me.

Working with refugees, displaced persons, women and children who have been deprived of a normal life and livelihood would come under the purview of human rights' careers, but the field of human rights is broad and multidisciplinary and, therefore, there is no direct or specific career path to follow. Paid jobs in the field of human rights are few. Jobs that do exist can be found primarily with non-governmental organisations or activist groups. Of course, someone working in the government, or in law may be working for human rights as part of the work profile, but these people need not have any formal training in human rights. Some of the sectors or areas where useful employment may be obtained after a degree in Human Rights are listed below: International Organisations including United Nations and its specialised bodies like UNHCR, UNESCO, UNHCHR, UNFPA, UNICEF, WHO, ILO, UNIFEM, UNDCP etc. International Bodies like US Aid, Amnesty International, Red Cross, CRY, CARE, Lutheran World Service, YMCA, YWCA, Ford Foundation, IDRC, JICA, NORAD, DANIDA, WFP, Action Aid, Oxfam etc. Legal Aid and other Human Rights Centres under the control of Central and State Governments. Statutory Bodies like National and State Commissions on Women, Children, Human Rights, Labour, Welfare, Minorities, SC & ST. Military, Paramilitary and Police Departments. Panchayati Raj Institutions. Schools, Colleges and Universities including Research Bodies and Centres of Excellence. District Rural Development Agencies and District Urban Development Agencies. Human Rights Consultancy Organisations run by Lawyers and Legal Experts. Correctional Institutions working in the fields of Juvenile Delinquency, Child Abuse, Women Reformation Centres, Prisons, Homes for the Homeless etc. Social Service Organisations like Old Age Homes and Age Care Centres, NGOs working in the fields of Disabled and Handicapped, Orphans, Destitutes, Mentally Retarted, De-addiction etc. Refugee related Organisations. Self Employment and Entrepreneurial opportunities for establishing rural and urban counselling centres on Human Rights. Establishing NGOs in the fields of Human Rights and Civil Liberties in general and human rights activism, disaster and emergency relief, humanitarian assistance, child, bonded labour, displaced people, drug abuse, conflict resolution, and public interest litigation in particular. Re-employment opportunities for retiring and retired persons for implementing human rights standards and required legal aid, remedies and reforms. Appointments in Corporate Houses and Multinational Organisations for implementing their social and human responsibilities of business.

Dear Sir, I have a younger brother, he is studying in 12 Class (Commerce, result is awaiting. I want to know how many field he can go? When the forms are open? Kindly send me full details about future of commerce streaml. I am waiting your reply.

Commerce stream opens up a variety of options after 10 + 2 stage. Some examples are: company secretary-ship, chartered accountancy, cost accountancy, business management, computer. Although chartered accountancy, cost accountancy or company secretary-ship course can be taken up after 10 + 2 (after successfully completing the Foundation Courses) you should be aware that each year only a small percentage of those who take the examinations get through. It may, therefore, be wise to obtain the basic B.Com degree first. BCom with Computer as one of the combinations is now a much sought after course. For forms etc. do keep on reading Employment News regularly and also national dailies as well as surfing Internet for getting the updated information about the latest admission notifications etc.

I AM A ARTS GRADUATE & I WANT TO BECOME ADMINISTRATION OFFICER, WHAT TO STUDY FOR THAT?

As a graduate you may aim for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or the State Administrative Service (in your state) on the basis of your qualifying the relevant competitive examination conducted by the UPSC (www.upsc.gov.in) or the State Public Service Commission respectively. The pattern of the examination requires studying for General Studies and two Optional Subjects ( which may be of your choice) but in which you would need knowledge of at least the honours level in the subject, and ideally post graduate level knowledge in most cases barring law, engineering, medicine and allied subjects.

i am a result-awaited student of class X. I am unable to decide whether I should read mathematics or Biology in class XI & XII. Please guide me what are the career opportunities in Mathematics and Biology

If you are comfortable and doing well in both these subjects, it would be much better for you to pursue plus two with physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics. Typically, Maths with physics and chemistry leads to engineering, dairy technology, nautical science, architecture, pharmacy, etc careers while biology with physics and chemistry would lead to medical, health and life/ biological science career avenues including pharmacy. Biomedical engineering, biotechnology and bioinformatics are field where the combination of both mathematics and biology would be very relevant. This forum is not adequate basis on which to make suggestions for your long term future. Use the suggestions as guidelines to assess your own priorities.
